About me.
I am an experienced trial lawyer who aims to find strategic, efficient, and just results through a balanced approach to litigation. No two cases are the same and one of the things I enjoy most is working with clients to chart the optimal short- and long-term goals and strategy for each specific matter. Often, we obtain a quick dismissal or settlement; other times we try a case to verdict or take it to the appellate courts. The important thing is we start with and continually adjust a thought-out strategy, weighing the potential outcomes and working toward the desired outcome as efficiently as possible.

As a partner in one of the country’s largest law firms, I enjoyed a diverse litigation practice for many years. I have successfully represented clients ranging from small local businesses such as dentists or car dealers, to Fortune 50 companies, and from inmates serving long prison terms to one of the most famous recording artists in the world.
While I practice in many areas, I have spent considerable time focusing on high stakes personal injury and insurance law and the defense of insurance bad faith cases, which I have successfully defended in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the South Carolina Supreme Court, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and state courts and district courts throughout South Carolina. In addition to having been the co-chair of the insurance practice group for an 850-attorney firm, I regularly counsel numerous insurance clients on these issues, have lectured to the South Carolina Bar on them, and have represented insurance interests before the South Carolina Department of Insurance. Long rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, I have been recognized by the South Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Stars, the South Carolina Super Lawyers, and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
